Say what? Cassie Holland, who works as a cart girl at a golf course in Las Vegas, Nevada, claimed on TikTok that a man tipped her three $100 bills that were ripped in half
Yuck: Holland said that he asked her to go to dinner with him that night, and when she told him she had other plans, he whipped out the torn money
Holland explained that the guy was from out of town and with his friends, saying was ‘being really nice’ and ‘tipping good.’ But then he asked if she would go to dinner with him.
‘I was like, “No, that’s okay. I can’t tonight. I’m busy,”‘ she recalled. ‘He’s like, “Well, cancel your plans and come with me.” I’m like, “I can’t. Thanks for the offer though.”‘
Holland suggested he go to dinner with his friends, and that’s when the man allegedly whipped out the ripped $100 bills.
‘He says, “Look, I’ll give you these now, and if you meet me in front of this casino at nine, I’ll give you the other halves,’ she claimed. ‘So clearly he already has this whole idea planned out.’
Holland insisted that she wasn’t going to take the money, but when she was waiting on other customers, he placed the torn bills in her drink holder.

‘So, now I have this completely useless $300,’ she griped. ‘Just $300 down the drain that nobody can use because I’m not going.’
She admitted that she was mad at first, but then she realized that she ‘didn’t really lose anything.’
He’s the dumba** that lost $300,’ she said. ‘It’s not even like I can show up and get the other halves upfront and then leave because he’ll probably try to start problems with the golf course. So, now I don’t know what to do.
‘I wonder if he’s ever done this before and if it’s worked. Because I can understand once you have the three halves, you probably want the other ones,’ she added. ‘It’s funny because he probably thinks he is a genius, but he really just lost $300 for nothing.’
In the caption, she asked: ‘So does this = $150?’
The viral video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times has received thousands of comments. Many suggested that she take the money to the bank to see if she could get the full amount of the money redeemed.

People who have mutilated money may receive a redemption at full value when more than 50 percent of a note identifiable as United States currency is present, along with sufficient remnants of any relevant security feature, according to the U.S. Department of Treasury.
Others shared that similar things have happened to them or people they know.
‘When I was bartending someone did this to me with one $100 bill,’ one person explained. ‘The comments about the 51% are true. Take em to the bank!’
‘This happened to my sister! She actually really liked the guy and would have gone out with him…until he [had] done this!!’ someone else added. ‘He got very weird after!!’
Someone else said she was working as a dancer years ago when a customer gave her the halves of two $100 bills and claimed he would give her the other halves if she went to lunch with him the next day.
In a follow-up video, Holland shared that the man had returned to the golf course and given her the other halves after seeing her viral TikTok.

Good as new? Holland said she did her ‘best’ to tape the $100 bills back together, and she hoped that she will be able to get new ones at the bank
‘So guess who showed up today? The guy that gave me the $300 ripped in half,’ she said. ‘Yeah, turns out he saw my video and realized what he did wasn’t very smart.’
Holland said she did her ‘best’ to tape them back together, and she hoped that she will be able to get new ones at the bank.
‘He was like, “Yeah, if I’m going to let $300 slip away, I might as well give it to someone that might do something fun with it,”‘ she recalled.
‘I’m like, “Well, I’m glad you’ve had a change of heart. I think I will go out to dinner with my friends. He’s like, “Great, take pictures.” When in reality, I’ve got some bills to pay. So I’m gonna have to figure that out.’
The man couldn’t resist one last attempt to get Holland to go out with him, and he allegedly told her: ‘You know where to find me if you want to ruin my night tonight.’
Holland said she decided the best way to ruin his night would be to stand him up for a second time.
‘Buddy, if you’re watching this, thank you, but like I said to you before, I’m going to be accepting this as an inconvenience fee,’ she concluded.
